How to Add a Subs Bid to a Project

Step 1: Open Buildertrend

  • Log in to your Buildertrend account.

Step 2: Navigate to the Job

  • Go to Jobs.

  • Select the specific Job Name you want to work on.

Step 3: Access the Financial Section

  • Click on Financial.

  • Choose Bids from the options available.

Step 4: Select the Bid

  • Find the bid you want to include in the proposal. (For example, if it's related to plumbing, select "Plumbing").

  • Click on the relevant category (e.g., Plumbing).

Tip: It’s recommended to select a bid that is:

  • Mid-range for pricing.

  • From a reliable company that takes accountability.

  • Competitive in terms of cost.

Step 5: View and Choose the Desired Bid

  • In the category (e.g., Plumbing), you’ll see a list of all bids.

  • Click on the specific bid you want to add to the proposal.

Step 6: Include Bid in the Budget

  • A pop-up will appear showing the selected bid details.

  • In the middle section, find the option labeled “Bid Submission”.

  • Check the box labeled “Include in the Budget”.

  • Click Save.

Step 7: Update the Estimate

  • Return to the Financial Tab.

  • Select Estimate.

  • The bid you selected should now appear in the estimate.

Step 8: Build the Proposal

  • Once the estimate is complete, click on Build Proposal.

  • Choose Print & Copy.

  • Save the proposal as a PDF.
