Client Rough Inspection walkthrough

Responsibility

  • The Superintendent is responsible for conducting the walkthrough, addressing client questions, and documenting any changes or concerns.

  • The Superintendent will coordinate with relevant tradespeople to ensure all installations are correctly placed and accessible for client inspection.

Timing

  • The Rough Trades Client Walkthrough should be conducted after all rough-in work (framing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC) is complete but before insulation and drywall installation.

Purpose of Walkthrough

  • Verify placements and readiness for rough inspection; ensure client satisfaction.

  • Overview of Construction Process:

    • Explanation of current project phase.

Structural Components Verification

  • Structural integrity and alignment of framing.

  • Load-bearing walls, beams, and joist installations.

Electrical System Verification

  • Location and accessibility of electrical panel.

  • Outlet, switch, and fixture placements as per electrical plan.

  • Special electrical requests and custom wiring.

  • Lights pendants, prewire if added.

  • Cabinet lighting if added.

  • Mirror lighting if added.

Plumbing System Verification

  • Main water shut-off valves and fixture supply lines.

  • Drainage, venting systems, and pipe placements.

  • Hot and cold water supply lines.

  • Any conduit for future lines or items (communication wire, speaker wire, etc.).

HVAC System and Ductwork

  • Location and installation of HVAC units.
